On December 29, 2023, San José Police Department Robbery Unit Detectives began investigating a series of home invasions and residential burglaries that occurred in the city of San José. During the course of the investigation, Detectives collaborated with multiple Bay Area agencies and learned that the suspects were associated to several residential burglaries in Bay Area cities including San Bruno, Fremont, Milpitas, and Union City.

During these home invasions and residential burglaries, the suspects took jewelry, high end watches, purses, large amounts of cash, as well as several firearms. The suspects also used a WiFi Jammer device to disrupt home security camera signals. After conducting a follow-up investigation, SJPD Robbery Unit Detectives, in collaboration with Fremont Police Department Special Operations Detectives, identified four suspects: Dejaun Mabon, Maurice Barrow, Shawn Wyatt, and Lawrence Barton.

On January 23, 2024, Fremont Police Detectives from the Special Operations Division, along with the San José Police Department’s Air Support Unit, apprehended the four suspects in Union City during an in-progress residential burglary.
