***UPDATE*** SJPD Arrests Suspect for 2023 Homicide #36

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

 

On December 30, 2023, at approximately 7:26 PM, patrol Officers responded to the area of Calle De Guadalupe and Plaza De Guadalupe for a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, Officers located an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

SJPD Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and began a thorough and comprehensive investigation. During the course of the investigation, Detectives identified the suspect as Bonifascio Limon and obtained a warrant for his arrest. 

On February 1, 2024, the SJPD Air Support Unit conducted extensive follow up utilizing ALPR cameras to locate and follow the suspect to a residence in the city of San José. With the assistance of the Special Operations M.E.R.G.E. Unit, Covert Response Unit (CRU) and Canine Unit, the suspect was apprehended nearby after he attempted to flee from the residence. 

Suspect Limon was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for homicide.
