Between December 2023 to January 2024, San José Police Department Robbery Unit Detectives investigated a series of armed robberies that occurred throughout the city of San José. The suspects would enter local bakeries, also known as "Panaderias".
The suspects would enter during business hours and demand money from the employees while brandishing a firearm. The suspects took cash or would take the cash register during the course of the robberies. Targeted businesses suffered a loss of thousands of dollars.

Robbery Unit Detectives conducted a thorough and extensive investigation, and identified the two suspects in connection to the robberies as Theodoro Ramos and Arturo Vasquez-Ayala. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for both suspects.
On February 6, 2024, the suspects were arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
During the course of the investigation, Detectives determined the suspects possibly committed other similar robberies throughout San José.
