On February 17, 2024, at approximately 8:03 PM, Patrol Officers responded to a residence in the 2300 block of Arden Way for a report of a possible deceased person. Upon arrival, Officers located a deceased adult female and determined she was the victim of a homicide. 

The San José Police Department Homicide Unit responded to the scene and began a comprehensive investigation into the incident. During the course of the investigation, Homicide Detectives quickly identified the victim's boyfriend as the primary suspect. With the assistance of ALPR cameras, the preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had fled San José in a vehicle. SJPD coordinated with allied agencies and determined the suspect had been involved in a motor vehicle collision sometime after the incident and was deceased.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation. The suspect will be named at a later date.   

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.

This is the City's 6th homicide of 2024.
