On February 10, 2024, at approximately 12:13 PM, patrol Officers responded to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the area of Story Road and Galahad Avenue. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2015 white Honda Civic sedan, occupied by an adult male driver, was traveling eastbound on Story Road through a green light at the intersection with Galahad Avenue when it struck an adult male pedestrian who was walking northbound in the east crosswalk against a red light.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and later stabilized.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
On February 20, 2024, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
This is the 9th fatal collision and 9th traffic death of 2024. This is also the 6th pedestrian death of 2024.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
