On March 7, 2024, at approximately 6:43 PM, patrol Officers responded to a collision involving a motorcycle and bicyclist in the 4400 block of Hamilton Avenue. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2018 black Kawasaki Ninja, ridden by a lone adult male rider, was traveling eastbound on Hamilton Avenue when it struck an adult female bicyclist, who was riding northbound across Hamilton Avenue outside of any marked crosswalks.
The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and later stabilized.
The motorcycle rider remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor in the collision.
On March 10, 2024, the bicyclist succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
This is the 10th fatal collision and 10th traffic death of 2024.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
