On January 31, 2024, at approximately 11:30 AM, patrol Officers responded to a report of a hidden camera located inside the restroom of a coffee shop in the 600 block of Coleman Avenue. Upon arrival, Officers discovered a camera hidden beneath the restroom sink facing the toilet.
The San José Police Department Sexual Assault Investigations Unit (SAIU) detectives immediately began a thorough and comprehensive investigation into the incident. Detectives determined that there were over ninety-one (91) victims of various ages, ranging from four (4) to eighty-five (85) years old, caught on camera using the restroom. These videos are extremely graphic and contain multiple juvenile victims, fully exposed. The footage obtained was recorded on January 30, 2024 from approximately 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
During the course of the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Louie Juarez and obtained an arrest warrant and residential search warrant for the suspect. On March 15, 2024, the SJPD Special Operations M.E.R.G.E. Unit located and apprehended the suspect in the city of San José. The residential search warrant yielded approximately twenty firearms, including an assault rifle, an unregistered firearm, high capacity magazines and other miscellaneous micro cameras.
The suspect was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for possession of child pornography, installment of a hidden surveillance camera with audio, possession of high capacity magazines, possession of an assault rifle, and possession of an unregistered firearm.
