SJPD Arrests Suspect for Two Robberies

On December 18, 2023 San José Police Department Officers responded to two armed robberies that took place in the city of San José, one in the 3100 block of Monterey Road and another in the 2900 block of S Bascom Avenue. In both cases, two adult male suspects dressed in all black, wearing gloves and masks, entered the business, brandished firearms at the victims and demanded cash. The suspects then fled the area with cash, lottery scratchers, and miscellaneous items.

On December 19, 2023, San José Police Department Robbery Unit Detectives took over the investigation and identified the primary suspect as Jeffery Turner. The second suspect is still unidentified and outstanding. The second suspect is described as an adult male, thin build, and left-handed. 

SJPD Robbery Unit Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for suspect Turner and a search warrant for his residence. On March 7, 2024, suspect Turner was arrested by the San José Police Department Covert Response Unit (CRU), with the assistance of the Oakland Housing Authority, at a residence in Oakland.

During the execution of the search warrant, SJPD Robbery Unit Detectives located a firearm, ammunition, cash, and a stolen vehicle.
