On August 26, 2023, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a business located in the 800 block of Blossom Hill Road for an attempted armed robbery. Upon arrival, Officers discovered that an adult male suspect entered the business armed with a firearm and demanded money from the employee. The suspect fled the area after the employee failed to produce money.

San José Police Department Robbery Unit Detectives began a thorough and comprehensive investigation and identified the suspect as Samih Stephan. During the course of the investigation, Detectives were able to connect suspect Stephan to five other armed robbery cases that occurred between December 2023 and February 2024:

Suspect Stephan took over $3,000 in cash during the armed robbery string. 

SJPD Robbery Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect and a search warrant for his residence. On March 19, 2024, suspect Stephan was arrested in the city of San José and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for armed robbery.
