On March 31, 2024, at approximately 12:33 PM, Patrol Officers responded to a residence in the 500 Block of Mill Pond Drive for a report of a female who needed medical attention and a request for police. Upon arrival, Officers located an adult female victim who had signs of physical trauma. The victim was neither conscious nor breathing and was subsequently pronounced deceased on scene.
The San José Police Department Homicide Unit responded to the scene and immediately began a comprehensive investigation into the incident. A known suspect at the residence was taken into custody and later booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for Murder. The suspect will be identified at a later date.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
This is the City's 11th homicide of 2024.
