On April 3, 2024, at approximately 4:12 AM, Patrol Officers responded to a hit and run vehicle collision involving two vehicles in the intersection of Nieman Boulevard and Daniel Maloney Drive. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A black 2017 Chevy Camaro sedan, occupied by an unknown driver, was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Nieman Boulevard failing to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Daniel Maloney Drive when it struck a 2000 white Nissan Frontier pick up truck, that was occupied by an adult male driver, traveling westbound on Daniel Maloney Drive.
The adult male driver of the white Nissan Frontier was pronounced deceased at the scene. Patrol Officers later located a juvenile that is believed to be the driver of the black Chevy Camaro. The juvenile was taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing.
This is the 12th fatal collision and 12th traffic death of 2024.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
