On June 24, 2024, at approximately 6:36 AM, San José Police Department Officers responded to the area of The Alameda and Newhall Street for a report of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

A 2015 red and black KYMCO motorcycle, ridden by a lone adult male driver, was traveling west bound on Newhall Street through it's intersection with The Alameda against a red traffic signal when it struck a 2013 white Chevy Sonic LT, traveling south bound on The Alameda. The white Chevy was occupied by a lone female adult driver. 

The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries where he was later pronounced deceased. 

The driver of the white Chevy remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation. 

The Motorcycle was a reported stolen vehicle.

This is the 22nd fatal collision and 22nd traffic death of 2024.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
