On June 1, 2024, Detectives with the San José Police Department Human Trafficking Task Force (HTTF) began a thorough and comprehensive investigation into a pimping and pandering case. Detectives uncovered that the suspect had initiated online contact with a person he believed to be an adult female. The suspect arranged to meet with the adult female and came to California with the intention to exploit her for commercial sex trafficking. 

Detectives identified the suspect as Rashan Fellows and obtained an arrest warrant for him. 

On July 8, 2024, the suspect arrived in the city of San José to meet the female for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex trafficking. With the assistance of the SJPD Special Operations M.E.R.G.E. Unit, METRO Unit, and VCET Unit, suspect Fellows was subsequently apprehended in San José and later booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for commercial sex trafficking related offenses.

The San José Police Department would like to thank the U.S. Department of State for their assistance and collaborative efforts in apprehending the suspect.
