On July 11, 2024, at approximately 4:02 PM, San José Police Department Officers responded to the area of Winfield Boulevard and Furlong Drive for a report of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

A 2022 black Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, ridden by an adult male, was traveling northbound on Winfield Boulevard when it struck a 2016 silver Mazda CX5, occupied by an adult male driver and an adult female passenger. The silver Mazda was traveling southbound on Winfield Boulevard and was making a left hand turn onto eastbound Furlong Drive when the collision occurred. 

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Mazda CX5 remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation. 

This is the 24th fatal collision and 24th traffic death of 2024.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
