On November 20, 2020, at approximately 5:17 PM, San José Police Department Officers responded to the 2200 block of Orlando Drive for a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, Officers discovered that an adult male victim was shot multiple times while sitting in his vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The unidentified suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival in the below pictured vehicle:

SJPD Homicide Unit Detectives began a thorough investigation and later identified the suspects as Hulizes Garcia-Urista and Jairo Ortiz-Plancarte.
On August 13, 2024, the SJPD Covert Response Unit (CRU) located and arrested suspect Garcia-Urista in the city of San José and booked him into Santa Clara County Main Jail for murder.
On August 14, 2024, the SJPD CRU located and arrested suspect Ortiz-Plancarte in the city of San José and booked him into Santa Clara County Main Jail for accessory after the fact.
This was the City's 39th homicide of 2020.
