On September 10, 2024, at approximately 6:24 AM, San José Police Department Officers responded to the area of Lucretia Avenue and Granada Way for a report of a vehicle collision involving a motorcycle. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

A 2019 grey Toyota Rav 4, occupied by an adult female driver and an adult female passenger, was traveling west bound on Granada Way turning left onto south bound Lucretia Avenue. The vehicle struck a 2017 red Yamaha motorcycle, occupied by a solo male adult rider, traveling north bound on Lucretia Avenue. 

The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries where he was later stabilized.

The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation. 

On September 12, 2024, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. 

This is the 36th fatal collision and 36th traffic death of 2024.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
