On September 13, 2024, at approximately 11:55 PM, San José Police Department Officers responded to the 14900 block of Camden Avenue for a report of a solo vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

A 2006 white Ford pick up truck, occupied by an adult male driver, an adult female passenger and two adult male passengers, was driving recklessly in the parking lot doing "donuts". The adult female front passenger fell out of the vehicle and onto the pavement. The pick up truck then struck the female passenger.

The adult male driver transported the adult female victim to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The driver and two other passengers remained on scene and alcohol was determined to be a factor in the incident.

The driver was identified and taken into custody. He was later booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.

This is the 37th fatal collision and 37th traffic death of 2024.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
