On September 19, 2024, at approximately 8:06 PM, San José Police Department Officers responded to the area of Stevens Creek Boulevard and Hanson Avenue for a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2018 black Honda Civic sedan, occupied by an adult female driver, was traveling east bound on Stevens Creek Boulevard. The vehicle struck an adult female pedestrian who was crossing from the north curb to the south on Stevens Creek Boulevard outside of any marked or traffic controlled walkways.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
This is the 38th fatal collision and 38th traffic death of 2024. This is also the 14th pedestrian death of 2024.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
