SJPD Arrests Suspects for Operating Illegal Gambling and Narcotics Establishment

San José Police Department METRO Unit Officers conducting an on-going narcotics investigation uncovered evidence of illegal narcotics sales operating out of an illegal gambling residence located in the 1400 block of Meadow Glen Way in the city of San José. After a thorough investigation, Officers identified Glenn Jingco and Sophana El as primary suspects. Officers obtained a search warrant for the residence. 

On October 3, 2024, the San Jose Police Department's Special Operations METRO Unit, with the assistance of the Special Operations MERGE Unit, executed the search warrant. A search of the residence revealed a loaded privately manufactured firearm with no identifiable serial number, a short barreled shotgun, multiple ammunition, methamphetamine, U.S. Currency with various denominations, approximately seven large illegal gambling machines and other various drug paraphernalia. 

Suspect Jingco and suspect El were prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior convictions. Both suspects were taken into custody and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for operating an illegal gambling and narcotics establishment.
