On July 25, 2024, at approximately 10:31 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to the area of Blossom Hill Road and Snell Avenue for a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2019 red Dodge Charger, occupied by an adult male driver, was traveling southbound on Snell Avenue turning left onto Blossom Hill Road when it struck an adult male pedestrian who was crossing northbound on Blossom Hill Road outside of any marked crosswalk.
The adult male pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he was later stabilized. He was subsequently placed into long-term care due to the extent of his injuries.
On October 17, 2024, Detectives were notified by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office that the victim was pronounced deceased on October 8, 2024 from injuries he sustained during the accident.
This is the 44th fatal collision and 44th traffic death of 2024. This is also the 17th pedestrian death of 2024.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
