On October 18, 2024, at approximately 6:51 PM, patrol Officers responded to the intersection of North 11th Street and East Julian Street for a report of a hit and run vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
The victim was crossing North 11th Street within a crosswalk when an unidentified vehicle, turning north bound from east bound East Julian Street, struck and ran over the victim. The suspect vehicle fled the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with major injuries and later stabilized.
The suspect vehicle was described as a small black SUV, possibly a black 2013-2019 Ford Escape or similar.
SJPD is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the unknown suspect vehicle captured on surveillance video above. The vehicle was described as a small black colored SUV (possibly black 2013-2019 Ford Escape or similar). The suspect driver is still outstanding.
