On December 9, 2024, at approximately 9:52 AM, San José Police Department Officers responded to the area of Snell Avenue and Truckee Lane for a report of a solo vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A white 1989 Ford Mustang, occupied by an adult male driver, was traveling southbound on Snell Avenue when it left the roadway and collided with a tree. The adult male driver was pronounced deceased on scene. There is no indication that any other vehicle or pedestrian were involved.
This is the 47th fatal collision and 47th traffic death of 2024.
The identity of the driver will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
