On September 27, 2024, at approximately 12:01 AM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a person shot in the area of Townsend Avenue and Park Entrance Drive. Upon arrival, Officers discovered an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Medical personnel were summoned to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The San José Police Department Homicide Unit responded to the scene and began a thorough and comprehensive investigation. Detectives identified Levi Padilla, Jasiah Eti, and two juvenile males as the primary suspects and obtain warrants for their arrest.

On December 11, 2024, with the assistance of the SJPD Covert Response Unit and MERGE Unit, the suspects were located in the city of San José and taken into custody. The two adult suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail. The two juvenile suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall. 

The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation. 

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin. 

This is the City's 24th homicide of 2024.
