| ARRESTED |
On October 30, 2024, Detectives with the SJPD Gun and Hazardous Offender Suppression Team (GHOST) discovered a social media account being utilized to purchase and sell illegal firearms. SJPD GHOST Detectives conducted an investigation and identified the adult male suspect as Lucien Cabrera. Many of the illegal firearms being sold were privately made firearms, commonly referred to as ghost guns. Suspect Cabrera was also importing high capacity magazines from Florida and Nevada to sell in the city of San José.
In an attempt to solicit potential buyers, suspect Cabrera would send videos of himself discharging the illegal firearms in public places in the city of East Palo Alto and city of San José. The videos depicted the suspect discharging a firearm in open fields, residential properties, and also on a school campus in the city of San José. The social media account also revealed evidence of the suspect brandishing a firearm at a local San José mall.

On December 18, 2024, with the assistance of SJPD MERGE Unit, Violent Crimes Enforcement Team (VCET), METRO Unit, Gang Investigation Unit (GIU), and Assaults Unit, SJPD Detectives located and arrested suspect Cabrera in the city of San José. The suspect was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for various crimes including possession of illegal firearms, manufacturing and selling illegal firearms, and discharging a firearm in a school zone.
