On December 6, 2024, at approximately 12:58 PM, San José Police Department Officers responded to the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue for a report of a traffic collision involving two vehicles. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A white 2015 Volkswagen Golf, occupied by an adult male driver, was traveling northbound on Lincoln Avenue when it struck the rear end of a red 2015 Audi A5, occupied by an adult female driver.
The adult male driver had suffered a medical emergency, which caused the traffic collision. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later stabilized with life threatening injuries sustained in the accident.
On January 17, 2025, the SJPD Traffic Investigations Unit was notified the adult male driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on January 15, 2025.
This was the 49th fatal collision and 49th traffic death of 2024.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
