SJPD Arrests Suspect for Sexual Assault of a Minor

On December 31, 2024, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a residence in the city of San José for a report of a sexual assault of a minor by an adult male suspect. 

Detectives with the San José Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC)/Child Exploitation Detail (CED) Task Force began an investigation and determined that the adult male suspect and juvenile male survivor met through an online chat application and arranged to meet in the city of San José. During the meeting, the adult male suspect drove the juvenile male to an empty parking lot where he proceeded to sexually assault the minor.

ICAC Detectives identified the suspect as Alfonso Ramirez, and obtained a warrant for his arrest and a search warrant for his associated residence.

On January 23, 2025, ICAC Detectives located suspect Ramirez in the city of San José and booked him into Santa Clara County Main Jail for sexual assault of a minor. The Livermore Police Department executed the search warrant at the suspect's residence in the city of Livermore.
