On January 29, 2025, at approximately 6:34 AM, San José Police Department Officers responded to the area of Sherlock Drive and Kimball Drive for a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2004 black GMC SUV, occupied by an adult male driver, was traveling north bound on Sherlock Drive. The vehicle struck an adult female pedestrian, who was crossing east bound at the intersection of Kimball Drive.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
This was the 3rd fatal collision and 3rd traffic death of 2025. This was also the 3rd pedestrian death of 2025.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
