On January 11, 2025, at approximately 10:11 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a shooting that occurred in the 3100 block of Loma Verde Drive. Upon arrival, Officers discovered an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers immediately began life saving measures. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. 

San José Police Department Homicide Unit Detectives responded to the scene and began a thorough investigation. During the course of the investigation, Detectives identified Adrian Pineda-Juarez, David Gomez-Moreno, Andre Novoa, Damien Perea, Diego Narez, Anthony Martinez, Eduardo Camacho-Hernandez, Dario Botello as primary suspects and determined the suspects were associated to a gang from Greenfield, California. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for the eight suspects as well as fourteen residential search warrants.

On April 2, 2025, with the assistance of the San Jose Special Operations Division, SJPD Covert Response Unit (CRU), Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office, King City PD, Greenfield PD, Salinas PD, Watsonville PD, Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, Sacramento PD, and Monterey Peninsula Special Response Unit, all eight suspects were taken into custody during a multiagency apprehension operation. Suspect Adrian Pineda-Juarez was already in custody in Monterey County for a separate homicide and will be charged separately in Santa Clara County.

The suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for murder. 

The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation. 

This was the City's 1st homicide of 2025.
