SJPD Arrests Suspect for Annoying or Molesting of a Child

On November 04, 2024 at approximately 10:30 PM, Officers responded to a report of suspicious circumstances involving an inappropriate conversation between a student and a staff member at Mount Pleasant High School, located in the 1700 block of S. White Road. At the time of the report, the staff member, identified as Jorge Palacios, was already on leave from the school.

The San Jose Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, began a comprehensive investigation into the incident and learned the suspect was previously employed for approximately one year as a Parent Community Involvement Specialist (PCIS) at the high school. The investigation also revealed the suspect was previously employed for approximately 4 years with the East Side Union High School District.

The San Jose Police ICAC Task Force has identified multiple victims and witnesses who have alleged similar incidents involving the suspect at Mount Pleasant High School. Detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest. 

On April 28, 2025, Suspect Palacios self surrendered at the Police Department and was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for charges related to annoying or molesting a child under the age of 18 years.
