SJPD Arrests Suspect for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material

In February 2025, the San José Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC)/Child Exploitation Detail (CED) Task Force conducted an operation utilizing a web-based file sharing platform that led to the discovery of an adult male suspect who was observed downloading and distributing over 600 images of child sexual abuse material.

During the investigation, Detectives identified the suspect as Andrew Gutierrez, and discovered the suspect was actively employed as a paramedic in the County of Santa Clara at the time of the arrest. Detectives obtained a search warrant for his residence.

On April 29, 2025, during the execution of the search warrant at Suspect Gutierrez's residence, evidence of the crime was seized. Suspect Gutierrez was located in the city of San José and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for possession of child sexual abuse material.
