On June 28, 2025, at approximately 6:32 AM, San José Police Department Officers responded to the area of W. Taylor Street and Spring Street for a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

A 2022 gray Tesla Type X, occupied by an adult male driver, was traveling westbound on W. Taylor Street when it struck an adult female pedestrian. The pedestrian was crossing southbound on W. Taylor Street at Spring Street in a marked crosswalk. 

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and later stabilized.  

The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation. 

On July 7, 2025, Santa Clara County Coroner's Office advised the Traffic Investigations Unit that on July 4, 2025, the pedestrian had succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. 

This is the 14th fatal collision and 14th traffic death of 2025. This is also the 7th pedestrian fatality of 2025. 

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
