On August 9, 2025, at approximately 12:44 AM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery that occurred in the 30 block of East San Fernando Street. The preliminary investigation revealed that the adult male victim was seated in his vehicle in a parking lot when he was approached by two suspects, both armed with firearms. The suspects took the victim's jewelry and fled the scene prior to police arrival.

SJPD Robbery Unit Detectives began an investigation and discovered that on September 8, 2025, another armed robbery occurred in the 200 block of Edenvale Avenue. The adult male victim was attempting to sell clothing items to the adult male suspect through a social media application. When the victim arrived at the location, he was ambushed by four suspects, with two brandishing firearms. The victim was struck with the firearm's handle during the altercation causing the victim to sustain moderate injuries. The suspects stole the victim’s clothing items and fled the scene.

Detectives identified two primary suspects responsible for the armed robberies: Silas Willis and Dwonne Brown. Tyshawn Saunders was identified as a suspect responsible for the incident that occurred on September 8, 2025. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for the suspects and search warrants for their associated residences.

On September 9, 2025, Suspects Willis, Brown and Saunders were located and arrested in the city of San José. During the execution of the search warrant, Detectives located an un-serialized privately made firearm, along with evidence of the crimes. All three suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for armed robbery.
