On March 4, 2025, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to the 3600 block of Gurdwara Avenue to take a report for a suspicious circumstance that occurred on February 23, 2025. The reporting party informed Officers that on February 23, 2025, at approximately 1:30 PM, there was a disturbance between a group of male juveniles that led to an alleged negligent discharge of a firearm.

Detectives from the SJPD Gun & Hazardous Offender Suppression Team (GHOST) conducted a thorough investigation and identified a 16-year-old male juvenile suspect associated to the incident. During the investigation, Detectives also discovered that the juvenile suspect was responsible for other negligent discharge incidents, including near a school in the city of Milpitas. The suspect was also found to be involved in illegal firearms trafficking.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect, and a search warrant for his associated residence. On September 25, 2026, SJPD’s MERGE Unit located the juvenile suspect at his residence in the city of Milpitas and arrested him. The juvenile suspect was booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall for multiple firearm-related crimes, including possessing and discharging firearms within a thousand feet of a school.
