SJPD Arrests Suspects for Attempted Murder

On March 7, 2025, at approximately 11:30 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a local hospital for a report of a person stabbed. An adult male victim and an adult female victim had self transported to the hospital, both suffering from stab wounds. The preliminary investigation revealed that two adult male suspects violently assaulted the two victims that evening in the area of 21st Street and East Santa Clara Street. One suspect stabbed the adult male victim with a box cutter and a second suspect stabbed the adult female victim with a broken bottle.

San José Police Department Assaults Unit Detectives began a comprehensive investigation and identified the two adult male suspects as Francisco Silva and Oscar Garcia Gamboa. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for both suspects and search warrants for their associated residences.

On September 24, 2025, Suspects Silva and Garcia Gamboa were located and arrested in the city of San José. Both suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for attempted murder.
