On July 13, 2025, at approximately 5:53 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a gang-motivated assault with a deadly weapon that occurred inside a business in the 3000 block of Meridian Avenue. Two juvenile male suspects began an altercation with three victims regarding their gang affiliation. The suspects proceeded to violently attacked the victims, with one suspect brandishing a knife and stabbing one victim, while the other suspect physically assaulted a second victim. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.
SJPD Gang Investigations Unit (GIU) Detectives began a comprehensive investigation and identified the two 17-year-old juvenile male suspects, both from the city of San José. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for both suspects and search warrants for their associated residences.
On October 1, 2025, both juvenile suspects were located in the city of San José. One of the juvenile suspects was apprehended on a school campus, at which point a loaded handgun was recovered from inside their associated vehicle on the campus. In addition, gang indicia was located in both residences during the execution of the search warrants.

Both juvenile suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall for multiple crimes, including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a weapon, and possession of a firearm on school grounds.
