On September 5, 2025, at approximately 2:05 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a violent armed robbery that occurred at Kim Hung Jewelry in the 1900 block of Aborn Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that over ten suspects forced entry into the business by ramming a vehicle through the front door. Once inside, one of the suspects brandished a firearm at one adult male victim inside the business, while a second elderly adult male victim was violently assaulted. The suspects stole thousands of dollars worth of items from the store before fleeing the scene in multiple vehicles. The elderly adult male victim was later transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
SJPD Robbery Unit Detectives immediately began an investigation and identified seven suspects: Angel Herrera, Toddisha Mayfield, Zakhari Blue-Gordon, Tom Donegan, Jacques Samuel, Cisco Lutu, and Amari Green. Detectives obtained arrests warrants for all suspects and search warrants for their associated residences. All suspects were arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for Robbery.
Detectives also identified an additional suspect, Julian Gacutan, and obtained a warrant for his arrest and a search warrant for his associated residence.
On October 3, 2025, with the assistance of the San Ramon Police Department, Suspect Gacutan was apprehended in the city of Oakland. The suspect was transferred into SJPD custody where he was later booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for robbery.
"I said it before and I'll say it again: hiding behind a mask in a crowd of thugs will not shield you from accountability," said SJPD Assistant Chief of Police Brian Shab. "This additional arrest proves that your temporary flight from justice won't stop us from finding you and arresting you."
“Each and every day, our police department makes San José safer,” said San José Mayor Matt Mahan. “With this latest arrest, we are one step closer to ensuring every single person involved in this cowardly crime faces the consequences of their actions.”
“Thank you to the San José Police Department for their proactive and diligent efforts in apprehending the suspects whose actions posed a threat to our businesses and our city,” stated San José City Manager Jennifer Maguire. “Their commitment to keeping our community safe reflects the dedication that our residents and business owners rely on every day.”
