On October 25, 2025, at approximately 2:35 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to the area of Foxworthy Avenue and Jarvis Avenue for a report of a traffic collision involving multiple vehicles.
The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2018 white GMC Yukon, occupied by an adult male driver, was traveling eastbound on Foxworthy Avenue west of Jarvis Avenue when it attempted to pass a 2018 green Subaru Forrester. While the GMC was attempting to pass on the right, the GMC collided with the Subaru causing the GMC to travel into the opposite lane of traffic and collide head on with a 2012 blue Honda CRV that was occupied by an adult female driver.
The adult female driver of the Honda was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The adult male driver of the GMC was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.
The adult female driver of the Subaru was not injured.
This incident is the city's 31st fatal collision and 31st traffic death of 2025.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner.
