On November 14, 2025, at approximately 1:41 AM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to the area of W. San Carlos Street and McEvoy Street for a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2006 silver Toyota pick-up truck, occupied by an adult male driver, was traveling westbound on W. San Carlos Street approaching the intersection at McEvoy Street, when it struck an adult male pedestrian who was crossing the roadway outside of any marked crosswalk.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
This incident is the city's 34th fatal collision and 35th traffic death of 2025. This is the 17th pedestrian death of 2025.
The identity of the decedent will be released by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner.
